Milwaukee Engagement Photographer

Flashback to March 24, 2024 |
Two years ago on this very date, I had an engagement session booked with the cutest couple, Katie & Joe.
We met through one of the dog-friendly establishments in Milwaukee’s Third Ward, where they frequent with their sweet pup, Schmoopy. I was so excited that they wanted a spring engagement session. I envisioned lush green foliage, sunny meadows, and blooming wildflowers.
Our session was set to take place at Lion’s Den Gorge Nature Preserve in Grafton, Wisconsin. I’d never photographed here before. I spent some time researching the area, scouting popular spots while keeping Katie’s Pinterest vision board in mind!
There’s a First For Everything |
Fast forward to the day of the session…. in true Wisconsin fashion, we were expecting a blizzard! Not just any blizzard, a blustery, sleeting storm with icy snow coming down fast and heavy.
I thought for sure Katie and Joe would want to reschedule. But to my surprise (and slight concern), they were still game! I was up for the challenge, envisioning cute snowy engagement photos. How sweet!
I’d never photographed during a blizzard before, but there is a first for everything, right?

The conditions were far from ideal for a session; it wasn’t even ideal to be outside! Being lakeside made the conditions so much more intense. We took frequent breaks to warm up and eventually had to move into denser parts of the preserve. We needed to get some relief from the snow!
Katie & Joe were absolute troopers and made the most of the day, with smiles throughout. Even Schmoopy put on his best show for mom and dad!

This one will stick with me forever |
I walked away from this session feeling nervous…
okay, maybe VERY nervous.
Throughout the session, there were moments I could barely see. Between my watering eyes and the blustering wind & snow, it was difficult to see what my lens was focusing on. Nothing was really going as planned. I relied on pure instinct and a prayer to get the job done.
I got home, immediately downloaded the images from the cards, and there it was…
Pure Magic.
Oh my gosh, their gallery was just stunning! I was in awe at these wholesome and loving moments we captured. You would never know just how harsh the conditions were, looking at their smiles & connection. These images told a very different story.
This is one of those memorable sessions that will stay with me forever!

Oh my gosh, their gallery turned out just stunning!

Happily Ever After
Katie and Joe were recently married in October of 2025 at Lilac Acres in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I was honored to capture their wedding day. Thankfully, the weather was absolutely perfect for their special day!

Congratulations, Katie + Joe!
